Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Auckland Boys’ Choir Inc will be held in St George’s Church Hall, Epsom on Monday 16 March at 5:45pm.
Nomination forms for election to the Board of Management are available from the Choir Manager at rehearsals and attached to this email. Completed nomination forms should be returned to the Secretary by the due date given on the form.
The Agenda of the meeting will be:
1. To receive the balance sheet and statement of accounts for the 2025 year, and to adopt, if thought fit, the minutes of the AGM held 19 May 2025
2. To hold elections for 2026, for the following positions:
-Chairman
-Secretary
-Treasurer
-Manager
-Past Chorister / Parent
4. Review and update the current Constitution to the Proposed Constitution dated 16 March 2026 (as attached to this notice) to enable re registration for the Choir under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022

PROPOSED ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING RESOLUTION
“That the members of Auckland Boys’ Choir Incorporated adopt the proposed Constitution dated 16 March 2026 as the Society’s Constitution under the Incorporated Societies Act 2022, replacing the prior Constitution adopted under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908, and authorise the Board of Management to complete re-registration of the Society.”
MEMBER EXPLANATORY NOTE (FOR AGM CIRCULATION)
“The Incorporated Societies Act 2022 replaces the 1908 Act and requires all societies to adopt a new constitution and re-register by 5 April 2026. The proposed Constitution modernises governance, clarifies officers’ duties, introduces fair dispute resolution procedures, and enables electronic meetings, while preserving the Choir’s purpose, culture, and Board of Management structure. Members are asked to approve the updated constitution to ensure legal compliance and continuity of operations.”
5. To fix member’s subscriptions for the 2026 year – proposed to be unchanged at $10 per year
6. To decide on any resolution duly submitted at the meeting
Please Note
To nominate or vote at the AGM you must be a “Voting Member” of the choir. A fee of $10 is to please be paid at or before the AGM for any parent to become a Voting member.
It would be great to have a good turnout for the AGM, so please do attend and please kindly bring $10 to enrol as a voting member on the day for our AGM. The boys will be entertained downstairs separately at 6.00pm and we do not envisage a long meeting.
