The Board of Management of the Auckland Boys’ Choir is elected annually by ‘Voting Members’ of the Choir. The 2024/2025 Board consists of:

Director of Music: Christina Bevan
Chris is a Musical Director who has been teaching music and conducting for more than 30 years.
She specialises in nurturing the best possible performance in others and composes as well as arranging music. She is married to Lee and is the proud mother of four sons.
Chris feels incredibly fortunate to be immersed in a full and varied musical working schedule. She is the Musical Director of Stonefields Choir, the Musical Director for the NZ Young@Heart Chorus, works as the Performing Arts Specialist at Farm Cove Intermediate School and enjoys teaching her private students.
Over the last several years, Chris worked as the Music specialist at Newmarket School and Howick Primary School, trained the choir at Howick Intermediate and Orakei School, and was an APPA Music Festival Conductor and Accompanist and the Musical Director for “An Eden Park Christmas.”
Previously, Chris has worked as a chaperone for the Australasian production of Matilda the Musical, and as Head Chaperone for Auckland Theatre company’s Billy Elliot and Tom Sawyer. She was the Musical Director for King’s College productions in 2018/2019 and Pakuranga College in 2019. Previously, Chris played as an accompanist and répétiteur for Auckland Theatre Company and was part of the team for Coca Cola Christmas in the Park for 13 years, including training the Coca Cola Choir. She was the accompanist for the Graduate choir from 2005-2007, is an Adjudicator, led worship at Howick Community Church for many years and has served the local community on two School Boards of Trustees as Chairperson.
Accompanist & Associate Musical Director: Edmond Wong
A pianist, organist, teacher and accompanist, Edmond joined the Auckland Boys’ Choir as accompanist in 2019. Born in Hong Kong, Edmond began learning the piano at a young age. After moving to NZ with his family, he has been active in the musical community including accompanying and conducting choirs, performing in chamber music and as a soloist with the New Plymouth Orchestra. He has won the TSB Trust award and the second place of the Taranaki Musician of the Year. Edmond is a regular accompanist for music exams, performances and competitions such as the Ronald Dellow Vocal Competition.
He has over 25 years of private music teaching experience and is currently an organist at St Michael’s Catholic Church in Remuera.
Edmond holds an LTCL diploma in piano performance, ATCL diploma in piano teaching and is an associate member of the Institute of Registered Music Teacher in piano and advanced theory.
Choir Manager: Tejas Lamb
Tejas has been involved in the Auckland Boys’ Choir as a chorister for seven years, including being appointed Head Chorister in 2018. Recently, he was appointed Choir Manager.
He has a strong connection to the team and a passion for choral music. He is continuing his involvement in choral singing as a member of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Choir.
Tejas is currently studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Earth Sciences and Geography at the University of Auckland.
In his spare time, Tejas is training to be a pilot and enjoys spending time with family.

Parent Liaison
The Choir relies on a high level of parent involvement to support its various activities and performances during the year. The Board of Management is a parent elected group and meets once a month to oversee the running of the Choir.
In addition, parents of the boys assist on camps and tours, at performances and with fundraising, promotion, catering and carpooling.

I am a parent of four children. My youngest child joined the Choir in 2023. I currently run my own business.
I volunteered to be a part of the Auckland Boys’ Choir Board as I am keen support to the choir’s passion for choral singing and I value the development of our young boys in a fun and encouraging environment.
